Kuwait has an estimated population of 3 to 3.5 million people. Among them, approximately 2 million are non-nationals. Approximately 70% of the population consists of expatriates.
Ethnic groups
About 57% of the Kuwaiti population is Arab, 39% Asian, and 4% are classified Bidun (stateless Arabs).
It is estimated that more than 580,000 Indian nationals live in Kuwait, making them the single largest expatriate community there. Pakistani expariate community is about 100,000 strong.
Languages
Kuwait's official language is Arabic, though English is widely spoken. Other important languages include Persian, Hindi, Gujarati, Malayalam, Punjabi, Tamil, Urdu, Bengali, and Filipino.
