Kuwait - Its Geography

Kuwait is among the smallest countries in the world in terms of land area. It is located in the north-eastern part of Arabian Peninsula. Sandy Arabian desert covers most of Kuwait. The country is flat and low lying. Its highest point is 1004 feet above sea level. Kuwait has some of the world's richest oil fields.

It has nine islands and Bubiyan is the largest island in Kuwait. Kuwait city, the capital of Kuwait is located on Kuwait Bay, a natural deep water harbour.

Kuwait has a mixed climate. The spring, in March, is warm and pleasant. The summer is Hot and the climate may go upto 44 C & Winters are cold and the climate may go down to 7 C. During June and July, one could witness dramatic sandstorm known as the shamal.
